This easy and simple pico de gallo recipe combines wholesome ingredients and spices for a great and vibrant taste that is Keto, Paleo, and Whole30 approved!
I personally like pico de gallo that is heavier on the onion than the tomato. Usually pico de gallo is served with more tomato than what this recipe calls for, so if you are the type that likes more tomato, simply add one to two more roma tomatoes to the dish.
This simple pico de gallo recipe also uses a jalapeno instead of a more commonly used serrano pepper. If you like more of a kick in your salsa, feel free to use a serrano pepper or any pepper you want for your personal level of spice tolerance.
Yellow or sweet onion will provide a sweeter taste compared to a white or a red onion. You can also adjust the spices in order to increase or decrease the spice level (more cayenne pepper means more spicy goodness).
This easy pico de gallo recipe is very low cost as it only uses a few ingredients, most of which many people already have laying around the house. The total cost of this dish is generally around $3 but might vary depending on the location. The cost will stretch far though as a little of this tasty pico de gallo goes a long way on top of any dish.
As stated previously, this pico de gallo recipe uses only a few ingredients to create a great flavor. The combination of ingredients allow this to be perfect for anybody that is following a special diet such as Keto, Paleo, or Whole30. In addition, it is a perfect topper for any dish, especially Mexican cuisine. The ingredients are fairly low calorie, low fat, and low carb, making this a very healthy dish.
